Ah Europe, a diverse continent full of bucket-list postcard locations, spritz-filled afternoons, and more carbs than you care to remember.

If you’re lucky enough to be one of the thousands of Australians who have saved their money and annual leave for a Euro trip this summer (theirs that is), here is the expert packing advice to make it healthy and happy.

    The naturopath

“I always pack a good pair of runners. Even if I’m out of routine and don’t get out for a run, I make sure I walk everywhere and climb to the top of every church or mountain I can find. Maintaining fitness, saving money on transport and the best views in every city equals wins all round!” - Katie Bieshaar, Swisse naturopath.

    The personal trainer

“I get pretty bad jet lag so I always pack a pouch of Little Wilding Co’s ‘I Need A Moment’ organic herbal tea. It helps me feel relaxed and get off to sleep in no time” – Lee Sutherland, Fitness in the City.

    The health editor

“There’s nothing like a long haul flight to mess with your bathroom habits. Joy! Travelling has a funny way getting that plane bloat, so I’ll take Swisse Ultiboost Liver Detox with me to help. Handy following rich food or drink too” – Melissa Shedden, Acting Editor myBody+Soul.

    The nutritionist

“I never step on a plane without a bag of roasted almonds. Not only are they delicious but they are a great source of fibre and healthy fat. They also contain several vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin A, vitamin E, calcium, magnesium and zinc.” – Chris Holland, Swisse nutritionist.

    Santorini, Greece

    The dietitian

“I always pack some small, light-weight workout equipment in my suitcase. Think resistance bands, a Pilates ring, speed bands and slider pads which allow me to stay fit by doing high intensity workouts in my hotel rooms” – Rebecca Gawthorne, Nourish Naturally.

    The beauty blogger

“As we all know, it's important for us to protect our skin against environmental damage when we're on-the-go! I love Swisse Natural Defence BB Cream SPF30 as it is a daily moisturiser that is luxuriously formulated to protect our skin from environmental damage…a light weight cream that offers a natural, sheer coverage to your skin” - Lana Snow, Melbourne based pharmacist to be.

    The wellness blogger

“When you’re transferring time zones and travelling sometimes your skin needs a morning wakeup call, too. I’ll use the Swisse Deep Sea Hydrating Mist Toner. It smells like the beach and is super hydrating. I’ll even put it in the minibar fridge to feel refreshed after a run” - Ellie Parker, Live With Elle.

    The food blogger

“So many things I would pack but my number one would be some ginger tea bags. They're amazing for digestion when you can't get your hands on the fresh stuff, and help settle an uneasy stomach while you enjoy local foods. Gingerol is the spicy component found in ginger, and is more concentrated in the dried stuff found in tea - perfect while travelling!” – Sally O’Neil, author Live Move Eat.
